Lisa completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Ohio University, and subsequently spent a year working as a research assistant on a NIH grant investigating the effectiveness of telephone-delivered psychotherapy to depressed, HIV-positive individuals living in rural areas. Her research interests include: aging, depression, rural health, and quality of life. Her thesis at the University of Alabama examined the relation between quality of relationship and quality of life within rural-dwelling caregiving dyads using the PEARL dataset. Currently, she is exploring the possibility of a self-help intervention among older adults as her dissertation topic, and hopes to continue to working with individuals living in rural areas and improving overall quality of life.
